Technology · PHP

PHP, including the code you already have.

We build new PHP applications and take over the ones already in place: version upgrades, hardening, testing and integrations, without demanding a full rewrite as a precondition.

What we do

Design, develop, integrate, evolve.

We work across the full life of the application, from initial framing to the changes that follow the release.

Design

Domain boundaries, interface contracts and architecture defined with your technical and business teams.

Development

Versioned code, automated tests, code reviews and continuous integration across separate environments.

Integration

Connection to the services, data and applications already in place, through documented interfaces.

Evolution

Upgrades, version bumps and new capabilities planned without interrupting the service.

Your concerns

The questions an organization asks before choosing.

Our PHP application is old. Does it all need rebuilding?
Rarely. We start with an assessment: language version, dependencies, breaking points and risk areas. A full rewrite is only proposed when taking over would cost more, and that can be demonstrated.
Is PHP still a serious choice today?
Recent versions brought typing, markedly better performance and mature tooling. The real subject is not the language but the version in use and the state of the code running on it.
How do you secure an existing application?
By first addressing outdated dependencies, access management and unvalidated entry points. Those three areas cover most of the risks we find, before any cosmetic redesign.

In practice

Take over an existing codebase without stopping everything.

Most PHP applications we meet work and produce value. The challenge is to put them back on a safe path while they keep running.

  1. Assessment

Version, dependencies, test coverage and risk areas documented before any decision.

  2. Hardening

Fixes, access management and input validation handled first.

  3. Test safety net

Tests placed on critical paths before anything is changed.

  4. Staged modernization

Version upgrades and targeted rework, delivered in verifiable slices.

The order we work in

1. Understand
Map what exists before proposing a path.
2. Secure
Address what exposes the organization right now.
3. Cover
Add tests where a regression would be costly.
4. Evolve
Modernize once the safety net is in place, never before.
An order chosen to reduce risk, not to ship visible output fast.

Integrations

An application connected to what you already use.

We start from your existing systems and the interfaces they expose. The exact scope is defined during framing: it depends on each system, not on the technology alone.

Data

  • Relational databases
  • Warehouses and reporting
  • Message queues
  • Caches and indexes

Services

  • Internal APIs
  • Third-party services
  • Authentication
  • Scheduled jobs

Business applications

  • CRM
  • ERP
  • Finance tools
  • Customer service tools

Runtime and quality

  • Continuous integration
  • Logging
  • Monitoring
  • Automated tests

The right fit?

When PHP remains the right ground.

The language is almost never the problem. Version, architecture and tooling are what decide.

Decision criteria

  • Live existing systemAn application that delivers value and cannot simply be switched off.
  • Internal skillsTeams already trained, whom a language migration would disrupt.
  • Mature ecosystemProven frameworks, testing tools and static analysers.
  • Hosting costA simple execution model widely supported by hosting providers.

Counterparts to accept

  • Technical legacyOld code often requires a catch-up phase before anything new.
  • End-of-life versionsStaying on an unsupported version is a security risk, not a saving.
  • Execution modelReal time and persistent connections require additions.
  • Variable qualityThe ecosystem is vast: every dependency deserves assessment.

If the analysis shows another foundation serves your need better, we say so and point you to the right option.

Operations

What keeps the platform steady after launch.

Operations are not a contract separate from the project: they are prepared during design and continue at the pace you choose.

Environments

Separate development, staging and production, with the same deployment path every time.

Updates

Dependencies and versions tracked and tested before they are applied.

Security

Access management, logging and fixes applied according to their severity.

Backups and recovery

Verified backups and a documented restore procedure.

Monitoring

Availability, errors and response times watched, with a regular review.

Handover

Documentation and code handed to your organization, with no imposed dependency.

Use cases

What it actually looks like.

Three contexts where this approach changes daily life for teams. The interfaces shown are mockups made by our team to illustrate the point, not client projects.

Takeover

An application without its original team

Code taken over, documented and put back on a safe path.

Version upgrade

Moving to a supported version

A migration prepared on a separate environment, in verifiable stages.

Extension

Adding without weakening

New capabilities placed on an existing test safety net.

Your project

Let’s talk about your next platform.

Share your objectives, technology environment, and constraints, and we will explore how to integrate the platform into your organization.

  • A precise need or one still to define
  • Architecture discussed before technology
  • Collaboration with internal teams
